What's New?!

Everyone keeps asking me what I have been up to since I have closed the store(feb 9th). Been fairly busy. Went to Vegas to exhibit my cashmere line at Pool Trade Show in Vegas Feb 15-20. Met a lot of great new contacts- saw some old and new accounts and shared a booth and hotel with my friend Melissa of Lovemert.com- Melissa makes fabulous bags out of vintage fabrics- think Anthropologie meets Barney's . In fact, Barney's of Japan just picked up her line- she was a great boothmate and room mate. We stayed at Planet Hollywood- Great hotel.I had fabulous tangerine cosmos at Koi.

After recovering from Vegas, I finished up the fall catalog for my cashmere line - you can see some shots at www.vintagecreation.com .Did some administrative things like getting some new reps for my line so now I have someone in every corner of the US. I created a new cardigan style - pic is attached and they are now available for purchase online at www.ekochic.com and www.buildanest.com

Then began big preparations for my first show in Toronto. That's right I am exhibiting in Toronto at the Spring One of a Kind SHow.
Exciting. I leave Monday with my 3 giant suitcases. Wish me luck. you can also find me now on twitter under user "cashmeregal"

Violette Liquidation Final Week!

Yes, sadly this is our final week of business. We just couldn't recover from the economic disaster of 2008. We are wondering where our bailout is? Since bailout is not forthcoming we will be drinking champagne and pondering our future on Friday at the store.

Now many of your have asked what I will do next.
Hmmm. Not sure , am open to suggestions, but here are a couple thoughts that have crossed my mind:

Slinging cocktails at the J & M ( sadly they too are now closed)

Chauffeur- might be a stretch as last year I backed into my husbands car and took out a mailbox with my side mirror

Border Patrol Agent- Rats! just missed out on this as I am over the 40 year old age limit to apply- thought I might be good at this since I look sooo intimidating

Dog Walker- This also may not work since I was taken down by my 2 standard poodles in December on a walk- see previous post with injury photos

Yes, sadly this is what happens to an over 40 female college educated business owner in this blasted economy

Snow in Seattle!

Yes, I know for most of you this is not such a big deal , but we have major snow in Seattle. I have about 8 inches at my house... Yes we here in the Northwest rarely get snow so its a mess. Here are a couple of pics of my kids in the snow. Yes we are open at the store! I am snowed in but Cherisse will be there today. Everything is 25% off at the store - great savings on even the new arrivals .

Hi Eveyone-
For those of you wondering where I have been- I decided to get some excercise Thursday and took my 2 standard poodles , Rico and Hoss for a walk. About half way on our walk we encountered a fierce jack russell terrier type . Rico went after fierce dog- even though Rico is 10 times his size and I held onto his leash and went flying splat onto a gravel driveway. Ouch. So have been home nursing my wounds. I am back in the store today but will be moving slowly!
